Abstract:
To provide a sheet folding device which restricts a sheet from contacting a folding roller pair, and which has a small number of components and a control mechanism capable of being simplified, and to provide a sheet post-processing apparatus including the sheet folding device.SOLUTION: A sheet folding device includes: a folding roller pair 64 for causing a sheet to pass through a first nip part N1 between a first roller 63a and a second roller 63b so as to fold the sheet into two, and conveying the sheet in a first direction; a folding blade 67 which is selectively arranged at a folding position for performing sheet folding, and a retreat position for retreating from the folding position; a movable guide 69; and a driving mechanism. The movable guide extends along a second direction orthogonal to the first direction, and is capable of reciprocally moving between a cover position for covering an outer peripheral surface of the second roller, and a release position for exposing the outer peripheral surface of the second roller. The driving mechanism places the folding blade at the folding position while placing the movable guide at the release position, or otherwise, places the folding blade at the retreat position while placing the movable guide at the cover position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
