Abstract:
To improve the positional accuracy of a fold formed on a sheet by a sheet folding device.SOLUTION: A sheet folding device C includes: an upstream side register roller pair 33 which feeds a sheet to a center conveyance path 42; a downstream side folding roller pair 34 which nips a folding position of the sheet to form the fold; a thrusting plate 35 which is movable from the upstream side to a thrusting position where the folding roller pair nips the sheet; a loop formation space 50 which is formed on the lower side of the center conveyance path; and a control unit 120. The control unit controls the timing of starting the movement of the thrusting plate to the thrusting position so as to adjust the position where the thrusting plate thrusts the sheet in the sheet conveyance direction in accordance with the characteristics of the sheet subjected to folding processing, especially the degree of the stiffness of the sheet expressed by the thickness of the sheet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
