Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the sheet having selvages excellent in strength and used for preventing falling, aging, wind, sand, etc., of material in the fields of agricul ture, forest, construction, building, etc., by producing the salvages of the sheet with modified reinforcing ropes.
CONSTITUTION: A reinforcing rope 3 produced by covering the periphery of a yarn not fused by a high-frequency wave or heating treatment with a synthetic resin capable of being fused by the high-frequency wave or heating treatment is attached to a selvage formed by folding back the end of a sheet-like substrate 1, and subsequently subjected to the high-frequency wave or thermal treatment to form the highly strong selvage in which the sheet-like substrate 1 and the reinforcing rope 3 are integrally fused 6 by the fusion of the synthetic resin.
