Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a simple, compact device which saves space by utilizing tips of plural bundled optical fibers as a photodetection part. CONSTITUTION:A light irradiation part 1 such as a fluorescent lamp and the photodetection part 2 are arranged at an upper and a lower positions across a sheet S and light from the light irradiation part 1 which is transmitted through the sheet S is photodetected by the photodetection part 2. A fiber array 5 is bundled compactly at the opposite-side end part of the optical fibers 3 and placed in a specific bundled array state. Respective photoelectric converting elements convert light photodetected by corresponding optical fibers 3 into electric quantities according to the quantities of the light and the electric quantities are inputted to a microcomputer 8 as an arithmetic part through an A/D converter 7. The microcomputer 8 computes a sheet irregularity according to specific definition and outputs the results to an output part 9.
