Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject sheet-like article capable of giving a polymer gel electrolyte excellent in ion conductivity, good in handleability and productivity and useful for various electric devices such as nonaqueous electrolytes for secondary batteries and electrolytes for electric double layer capacitors by processing a fibrous material consisting mainly of a fibrous polymer capable of being dissolved or swollen in nonaqueous electrolytes.
SOLUTION: This sheet-like article is obtained by processing a fibrous material consisting mainly of a fibrous polymer capable of being dissolved or swollen in nonaqueous electrolytes into a sheet-like article having a thickness of ≥5μm (up to about 500μm). The sheet-like article can uniformly be impregnated with the nonaqueous electrolyte and easily form a gel to give the polymer gel electrolyte having high ion conductivity. The sheet-like article obtained by processing the dispersion of a pulp-like material by a paper-making method is thin, excellent in handleability and further excellent in characteristics for impregnating nonaqueous electrolytes.
