Abstract:
To provide a sheet-making polyimide short fiber capable of being easily entangled in each other and therefore suitable for sheet making, so that a polyimide sheeted product having good formation is obtained, even when the sheeted product of a thin gage, such as a nonwoven fabric and paper, is produced from the polyimide short fiber, to provide a method for producing the same, and to provide the polyimide sheeted product.
The sheet-making polyimide short fiber is made of a polyimide having repeating units expressed by formula (1), wherein the fiber has such a structure in its fiber form that its ramification point is ramified into four or more chains.
