To provide a sheet manufacturing apparatus capable of effectively preventing the generation of spark discharge to a moving cooling body from an electrode to properly manufacture a sheet at a high speed.
This sheet manufacturing apparatus has an extruder 3 for extruding a thermoplastic resin having a melt ratio resistance value of 0.3×108(Ω cm) or above into a sheetlike shape in a molten state, a moving cooling body 5 for cooling the molten sheetlike body 4a extruded from the extruder 3 and the electrode 10 arranged along the vicinity of the contact point of the molten sheetlike body 4a with the moving cooling body 5 and constituted so that streamer corona discharge is applied to the molten sheetlike body 4a from the electrode 10 to electrostatically bring the molten sheetlike body 4a into close contact with the moving cooling body 5. A limiting resistor 12 having a resistance value of 30-3,000 kΩ is arranged to the energizing circuit to the electrode 10.
