To provide a sheet matching mechanism which enables downsizing, and improves economical efficiency.
Lateral matching members 31 and 32 making a pair and synchronously moving in direction approaching each other are respectively provided with matching rollers 33c and 34c integrally moving with the lateral matching members 31 and 32. Rotation shafts of the matching rollers 33c and 34c are tilted in a sheet carrying direction so as to position carrying center line sides on the upstream side in the sheet carrying direction. While the matching rollers 33c and 34c contact with a recording sheet, when the lateral matching members 31 and 32 move in direction approaching each other, the matching rollers 33c and 34c are rotated by reaction force from the sheet. A component of force in a direction orthogonal to the rotating direction acts on the recording sheet from the matching rollers 33c and 34c, thereby moving the recording sheet toward the upstream side in the sheet carrying direction. Thus, the sheet matching mechanism can be downsized, and economical efficiency can be improved.
