PURPOSE: To obtain the subject sheet material consisting of warp and weft obtained by coating a synthetic filament yarn with a weather resistant resin coating layer, having a specific spacing length between yarns, strength and thickness and excellent impact resistance and capable of preventing ballast scattering in high speed running of train.
CONSTITUTION: A mesh-like foundation whose strength is ≥8000kgf in the total value (AX+BY) of tensile strength of warp X multiplied by number of warp A per meter in weft direction and tensile strength of weft Y multiplied by number of weft B per meter is obtained by weaving a filament yarn having 1000W200,000 denier diameter and in a density of each 50 numbers per meter as the warp and weft. Then a solution containing a weather resistant resin is impregnated into the foundation and the impregnated foundation is heated and solidified to provide the objective sheet material consisting of warp and weft coated with the weather resistant resin coating layer and being ≥250mm in length of at least one side of space among yarns formed by the warp and weft.
