Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent joint feeding of following sheet material, a jam of sheet material at the time of additional replenishing, and the like. SOLUTION: A sheet material conveying device has a carrier roller 1 for feeding sheet material and conveying it in a recording area, a rotatable pressure plate 2 for bringing stacked sheet material P into pressure contact with the carrier roller 1 and spacing it from the carrier roller 1, and a separating pad 4 for separating the sheet material delivered by the carrier roller 1, sheet by sheet between the carrier roller 1 and the separating pad 4. A regulating plate 17 for limiting the height of sheet material that can be stacked on the pressure plate 2 is fitted to the pressure plate 2, and a reversing roller 18 for imparting conveying force, reverse to a conveying direction, to the sheet material is disposed on the conveying direction upper reaches of the separating pad 4. It is so constituted that the tip part 17a of the regulating plate 17 is brought into contact with the reversing roller 18 and spaced from the reversing roller 18 according to the rotating action of the pressure plate 2.
