Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material feeding device and an image forming device allowing miniaturization of the devices, by designing a sheet material detecting mechanism for detecting existence of a sheet material loaded on a sheet material loading part.
SOLUTION: A sheet material detecting mechanism B comprises a flag arm 15 turnably supported by a device body, a remaining amount detection flag 13 turnably supported at a movable end of the flag arm 15, and a photo interrupter 14 for detecting displacement of the remaining amount detection flag 13. When the sheet material is mounted on a front surface cover 2, the remaining amount detection flag 13 is displaced by the sheet material, and the photo interrupter 14 detects the displacement of the remaining amount detection flag 13 to detect the existence of the sheet material. When the front surface cover 2 is stored, the flag arm 15 and the remaining amount detection flag 13 move interlocking with the stored operation of the front surface cover 2, and the remaining amount detection flag 13 is stored on the device body side than a using state.
