PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet material processing device, improving spread property of a sheet material bundle that is stitched.SOLUTION: A sheet material processing device includes a folding stripe forming mechanism 550 which forms a folding stripe on a sheet material that is supplied from an image formation device, and a stitch mechanism 532 for stitching, at a predetermined stitching position, a sheet material bundle in which a plurality of sheet materials having been provided with a folding stripe by the stripe forming mechanism 550 are bundled. The stripe forming mechanism 550, with a position of a folding stripe formed closer to an end side than the stitching position on a first sheet material of the sheet material bundle as a reference position, forms a folding stripe at positions sequentially displaced by a predetermined correction amount to an end side from the reference position, on a second or following sheet material.
