Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet mill with which the cost of equipment is reduced, roll changing work is simplified and the influence of the dead weight of a spindle for a work roll on the load distribution of divided back-up rolls is eliminated.
SOLUTION: In a 5-high sheet mill which is provided with upper and lower work rolls 20, 21, divided back-up rolls 33, 34 which are in contact with the upper work rolls 20 and divided into three or more divisions in the axial direction of the roll and lower undivided back-up roll 40 which is in contact with the lower work roll 21 and plural divided back-up roll units 27, 28 consisting of the divided back-up rolls 33, 34 and screw down devices 36, load detectors 37 and screw-down location detectors 38 which are provided on each divided back-up rolls 33, 34 are respectively independently mounted to an inner housing, a driving device 45 is connected to the lower back-up roll 40.
