Abstract:
To detect whether a staple processing is definitely performed on a sheet bundle without any cost increase.
Filing of the sheet bundle loaded on an intermediate tray 138 is performed through the use of a staple unit 132. When the sheet bundle subjected to this filing is discharged from the intermediate tray to a lower tray 137, the presence or absence of binding needles is determined with a staple needle detecting sensor. In this case, the staple needle detecting sensor is moved to a predetermined position en route on which a staple needle passes through in response to the position of the staple needle in a sheet bundle in synchronization with the discharge of the sheet bundle.
