Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet post-processor which can suppress the number of detections of tray position sensor means and the number of energizations of a staple device as much as possible and expect an elongation in service lifetime and a reduction in power consumption by making a binding processing device work upon jam processing of sheets or staples to prevent the occurence of an accident, and limit a detection range where the tray position sensor means detects, in a device configuration for temporarily accumulating sheets fed from a sheet ejection path above a stack tray to bind them.SOLUTION: A subtray 18 that accumulates sheets fed from a sheet ejection port of a sheet ejection path is disposed between the sheet ejection port and a sheet mount face of a stack tray 15 and configured so as to be movable between a plurality of actuation positions above the sheet mount face and a retreat position outside the sheet mount face. The staple device is actuated or prohibited from actuating by means of signals from this subtray position sensor where an actuation position of this subtray is so set as to be detected at a predetermined actuation position.
