PURPOSE: To provide a sheet printer having short overall length and composed of a small number of components and capable of performing multicolor printing by a method wherein the title sheet printer is composed of a printing cylinder on which a plurality of plate surfaces are arranged, an impression cylinder which abuts against the printing cylinder and is rotated in synchronization therewith, and a claw mechanism holding a sheet material.

CONSTITUTION: A paper 1 held with a claw part provided to an impression cylinder 5 is wound around the impression cylinder 5, and enters between a rubber cylinder 6 and the impression cylinder 5. Printing ink is transferred onto a first transfer surface 6a of the rubber cylinder 6 and first stage printing is performed. The impression cylinder 5 is further rotated holding the paper 1 as it is, and the paper 1 passes between a second transfer surface 6b of the rubber cylinder 6 and the impression cylinder 5. The printing ink is transferred onto the second transfer surface 6b, and second stage printing is performed. Then, two color printing is completed. Since the claw mechanism holds a sheet material as it is until the claw mechanism passes a plurality of plate surfaces, multicolor printing can be achieved with one impression cylinder.
