Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet processing apparatus and an image forming apparatus capable of reliably performing adjustment and also reducing the degradation of punched parts caused by idle punching operation.SOLUTION: A controller stops driving a cam member drive motor upon an initial value being assumed after a cam member HP detection sensor 56 detects one (e.g., 101) of punch actuation detection flags 101-103. An inertially moving cam member 72 reverses the cam member drive motor upon a timer counter reaching a predetermined stoppable value after the cam member HP detection sensor 56 detects another punch actuation detection flag (e.g., 102) of the inertially moving cam member 72. This ensures that the controller exerts adjustment control for adjusting the initial value on the basis of the count values of a cam member FG sensor after the cam member 72 reverses the movement direction until the detection of the other punch actuation detection flags is interrupted. The controller performs the adjustment control when the punch counter reaches a predetermined punch count.
