To provide a sheet processing apparatus employing a technique which binds sheets in such a way that they can be reused easily.
According to one embodiment of the present invention, the sheet processing apparatus generally includes a sheet processing section and a coating section. The sheet processing section includes a stacker on which a sheet conveyed from an image forming device is loaded and a folding blade which abuts against the sheet loaded on the stacker and presses it into a nip of two sheet folding rollers to fold the sheet. The coating section is located upstream of the sheet processing section in a conveying direction and applies a pressure-sensitive adhesive, which develops an adhesive power when pressed, to a sheet portion which is pressed into by the folding blade and is located along a direction orthogonal to the conveying direction.
