Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a configuration which can suppress leakage of sound generated in binding carried sheets even in such a configuration as to provide an opening 12 for staple processing separately.SOLUTION: In a sheet processing apparatus, a shutter mechanism 4 as shielding means opens and closes freely an opening 12 communicating a sheet binding space 10 for binding sheets carried through a conveyance path with an insertion port 13. The shutter mechanism 4 shields the opening 12 when a staple unit is located at a first binding position for binding sheets in the sheet binding space 10 and opens the opening 12 when the staple unit is located at a second binding position for binding sheets inserted into the insertion port 13. Since the opening 12 is shielded when the staple unit is located at the first binding position, sound leakage can be suppressed.
