To provide a sheet processing device and an image formation apparatus capable of ensuring performing a folding process on sheets transported in a stacked state one by one in a state of keeping productivity without stopping transporting subsequent sheets.
In a sheet processing device, an attraction transport mechanism 402 transports a preceding sheet attracted by an attraction belt 404 and a subsequent sheet downstream in a sheet transport direction in a state in which the subsequent sheet together with the preceding sheet is attracted and transported so that the subsequent sheet enters between the preceding sheet and an attraction surface 404a. A processing tray 412 receives and loads the preceding sheet released from the attraction belt 404 by covering the attraction surface 404a with the transported subsequent sheet. A folding process control unit of a sheet processing device control unit controls folding means (403, 413) to execute a folding process on the preceding sheet before the subsequent sheet attracted and held by the attraction belt 404 is released from the attraction belt 404.
