Abstract:
To provide a sheet processing device that suppresses tip misalignment caused in relation to transport speed of a sheet when using circulating transport in processing multiple sheets stacked on one another.SOLUTION: The sheet processing device including a circulating transport path formed of at least a first transport path, a second transport path, and a third transport path, comprises: first transport means that, in the first transport path, corrects a misalignment in a transport posture of a sheet with respect to a transport direction, and then, transports the sheet toward the downstream; the second transport means that transports, along the second transport path, the sheet transported by the first transport means; and the third transport means that transports, along the third transport path, the sheet transported by the second transport means into the first transport path in circulation; and a control unit that controls transport speed of the sheet. The control unit adjusts the transport speed of the third transport means based on a shrinkage amount by which a leading edge of a succeeding sheet shrinks during a temporary stop of the succeeding sheet at overlapping of the succeeding sheet carried later in the first transport path with a preceding sheet carried earlier and transported in circulation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 15
