A sheet processing device 500, which forms irregularities in a thickness direction in a sheet bundle including a plurality of sheets having an image formed thereon with toner to bind the sheet bundle, includes a pair of binding gears 809a and 809b, each having projections and recesses in the thickness direction, for forming irregularities in the thickness direction in the sheet bundle with the sheet bundle sandwiched therebetween, and heaters 811a and 811b for respectively heating the binding gears 809a and 809b when the pair of binding gears 809a and 809b forms the irregularities in the thickness direction in the sheet bundle with the sheet bundle sandwiched therebetween.
