Abstract:
PURPOSE: To form a sheet for sintering especially suitable for use in the production of a sintered hard alloy having a high Co content by sintering by uniformly dispersing powder of ceramics having a high m.p., carbon powder or carbon fibers and phenol resin in an org. binder.
CONSTITUTION: This sheet for sintering is formed by uniformly dispersing 10-85wt.% powder of ceramics having a high m.p., 1-30wt.% carbon powder or carbon fibers and 1-35wt.% phenol resin in an org. binder which can be thermally decomposed by heating in vacuum or in a nonoxidizing atmosphere. The org. binder may be PVA, CMC or polyvinyl butyral. The ceramics may be Al2O3, AlN, ZrO2 or SiC.
