PURPOSE: To provide a centering function to immediately retore a sheet steel to the regular line when the sheet steel traveling on a conveyor runs off of a passing plate line and makes snaky move and also make it possible to maintain the sheet in a horizontal float state with an excellent flow the efficiency and in a constantly stable condition.
CONSTITUTION: A slit is provided in the center of a conveyor in the traveling direction to generate supporting pressure between a sheet steel and the surface opposing the sheet steel in a non-contacting fluid supporting pad. A pair of slits of an I shape fluid injection slit nozzles 2A, 2B, which length are shorter that the minimum width of the sheet steel are formed in the orthogonal direction and a plural number of hurdle plates 3B respectively parallel to the traveling direction of the sheet steel are provided at approximately regular intervals on a pad body 1A surface, provided with the slit nozzles 2A, 2B, in the positions on both sides thereof in the sheet steel width direction while the height of the hurdle plate 3B is made successively higher towards both ends from the center.
