PURPOSE: To prevent a sheet from being jammed, by securing a guide under the sheet discharge section of an imaging apparatus, supporting a movable guide in a pivotally turnable manner under the former guide, and turning the movable guide when a prescribed number of sheets are held.
CONSTITUTION: A sheet storage tray 13, which is provided under the recording paper discharge section of a facsimile apparatus, comprises a movable guide 14, with which a discharged sheet 6 is brought into contact to direct the sheet downwards, and a secured guide 16 facing the former guide 14 to define a sheet storage space 15 of V-shaped cross section. The movable guide 14 is pivotally coupled at the bottom to that of the secured guide 16 by a pin 18 and normally kept in an operational position as shown in the drawing, by a means such as a plate spring 29. When at least a prescribed number of sheets 6 are put in the tray 13, the weight of the sheets releases the guide 14 from the keeping action of the plate spring 29 or the like to allow the guide 14 to turn outwards.
