To provide a sheet transfer device in which multiple sensors for detecting abnormal feeding can be mounted with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A sheet transfer device has a separation feeding section for feeding sheets while separating one by one, a transfer section for transferring the sheets, separated in the separation feeding section, along a transport path, and a sheet detector placed at a sheet feeding direction downstream side of the separation feeding section, and detecting the sheet. The sheet detector has a double feed detection sensor for detecting double feed of the sheet, and a movement detection sensor for detecting movement of the sheet based on a movement amount or a direction of movement of a feature point included in a sheet image obtained by photographing the sheet passing through the transport path. A control board for controlling the sheet detector has a first board mounting a supersonic wave transmission section, and a second board mounting a supersonic wave reception section, and the movement detection sensor is energized from the first or second board and driven.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 22
