Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To conform to a printing command changing in a short preparation time in a sheet transfer drum by being composed of a central drum main body and circumferential wall segments arranged in a flat chamfer part of the drum main body.
SOLUTION: A sheet transfer drum is composed of a central drum main body 3 supported rotatably by a printing machine frame around a drum axis, the drum main body 3 has an approximately square cross section, and flat chamfer parts 4, 5 for fixing circumferential wall segments 6, 7 are formed respectively on the two long sides parallel to each other. Clipper systems 8, 9 are arranged on the short sides of the drum main body 3 respectively, grip the front fringes of sheets 10 in sequence and transfer them to a printing cylinder 2 to further guide the sheets 10 from a printing cylinder 1. In this way, the segments can be produced from a flexible, airtight material, and for the operation of a printing machine, they can be inflated during back printing by air supply and folded during surface printing.
