The sheet weight measuring apparatus 5 comprises a sheet holding mechanism 17 arranged between a sheet fixing part 19 of a vehicle and a sheet 3, and a load sensor 13 for detecting a sheet weight applied to the mechanism. Further, the apparatus 5 also comprises a displacement restricting mechanism 25 for restricting a displacement of the sheet 3 to the part 19 to a certain range. In the case of applying a specified or more force to the sensor, an excess load is taken charge by not the sensor but the restricting mechanism (load limiting mechanism).
