To provide a shelf device which is made so as to house more pallets by arranging a sub-shelf body at the back of a shelf body which is provided with an elevator freely movably up and down.
The elevator 19 for moving a pallet P in and out of each shelf 11 is provided freely movably up and down on the front side of the shelf body 3 which is provided with a plurality of stages of shelves 11 on which the pallet P is freely moved in and out in the longitudinal direction, the sub-shelf body 43 which is provided with a plurality of stages of shelves 51 on which the pallet P is moved in and out at the back of the shelf body 3 and a pallet moving means for moving the pallet P between the shelves 11 of the shelf body 3 and the shelves 51 of the sub-shelf body 43 correspondingly to each shelf 51 of this sub-shelf body 43 is provided to the shelf device. The pallet moving means has constitution which is provided with a hooking member 63 which is freely engaged with and disengaged from a hook member 15 provided to the rear part of the pallet P on an endless member 61 which travels in the transverse direction. The position of the advancing end of the hooking member 63 is present inside the shelf body 3.
