Abstract:
PURPOSE: To shorten the length of gas venting holes and to facilitate mold forming work by forming cut-off parts at a part of recessed parts in a mold and forming communication holes communicating spaces formed between the cut-off parts and the recessed parts with cavities in the mold formed with the rescessed parts.
CONSTITUTION: In the mold 2, the cut-off parts 8 cutting off a part of the projecting part 6 are formed so as to form the space at the time of fitting the projecting part 6 with the recessed part 7. Then, in the mold 3 formed with the recessed parts 7, plural communicating holes 9 communicating the space formed with the cut-off part 8 and the recessed part 7 at the time of joining the mold 2 with the nearest cavity 4 are formed. Since there are the cut-off part which does not form the projecting part 6 in a part of the mold 2, the space is formed in the recessed part 7 of the mold 3. Gas produced at the time of pouring the molten metal into the cavity 4 and the air are vented into the space through the communicating holes 9 and comes into gaps 10 as ti is, namely, gas venting effect is improved to eliminate the gas defect, and the cast quality can be improved.
