To provide a shield tunneling method which is advantageous when data on physical quantity associated with the state of the assembling of a segment are easily and inexpensively collected, and a system for collecting data on the state of the mounting of the segment.
An operator attaches a slave unit 66 and a sensor 60 to a location of the segment 2 to be measured, powers on the slave unit 66, and puts the slave unit 66 and a master unit 38 into the state of enabling communication between them via a radio line. An operator getting on an operating truck 1602 starts up prescribed measurement software which is installed in a personal computer 32 for measurement. Thus, the data on the physical quantity which are generated by each slave unit 66 are continuously or intermittently collected into the personal computer 32 via the radio line, the master unit 38 and a wired line.
