Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shielded connector with a latch mechanism combined with a shield.
SOLUTION: An electric connector 10 is capable of fixing a plurality of signal contacts 20, and constituted by an inside dielectric housing 12 having a joining part 24 projecting forward. A metal shield 14 envelops the inside dielectric housing 12, and has an almost L-shaped elastic latch mechanism 62 on the outside of the joining part 24 on the front side of the metal shield 14. The L-shaped latch mechanism 62 has a first foot in the back and forth direction along the joining part 24 and a second foot in the lateral direction projecting outward from the joining part. The first foot has a latch part projecting outward. An outside dielectric cover 16 has an actuator 80 which engages with the second foot of the L-shaped latch mechanism 62 and energizes inward the first foot and its latch part toward the joining part 24 of the inside dielectric housing 12.
