To provide an automatic shift control method and an automatic shift control device of an electric vehicle that can prevent generation of abnormal noise attributable to backlash between gears during the shift, and can perform the shift in a short time.
The shift control method and the shift control device of an electric vehicle are applied to the electric vehicle having a transmission in which a two-way type roller clutch is interposed between an input shaft connected to a motor shaft and a gear trains of each speed change stage. In response to the speed change command, a shift member is operated by a speed change actuator to release the abutting of a friction disk of the present speed change stage on an outer ring, the torque of the electric motor is unloaded by the torque control, and a roller clutch of the present speed change stage is uncoupled. By controlling the number of rotation of the electric motor, the number of rotation of the outer ring is synchronized with that of an inner ring of the roller clutch of the target speed change stage. The friction disk and the outer ring of the target speed change stage are abutted on each other. By controlling the number of rotation of the electric motor, the roller clutch of the target speed change stage is coupled. Then, the control of the number of rotation is changed to the torque control.
