In the shift control method for the projection lens by which the projection lens 3 is shifted by using the driving force of a driving device such as a motor 400, a sensor 500 which detects the arrival of the projection lens 3 or a movable member 300 united with the lens 3 is arranged nearby an end part of the shift range of the projection lens 3 or movable member 300 and when the sensor 500 detects the arrival of the projection lens 3 or movable member 300 while the projection lens 3 is shifted, a speed switching means 510 decreases the driving force of the motor 400 to a predetermined value.
