To conduct emergency shift at the time of emergency such as sensor failure.
This controller is provided with a gear type transmission, setters 35, 36 for setting a shift position of the transmission, a hydrauic cylinder for changing over the shift position of the transmission, sensors 45A, 45B for detecting manipulated variable for a piston of the hydraulic cylinder, and a control part 50 for conducting selectively either feedback type shift control to operate the piston of the hydraulic cylinder in response to set results of the setters 35, 36 to a position where detected values in the sensors 45A, 45B reach to prescribed values or time type shift control to operate the piston of the hydraulic cylinder by a preset time in response to the set results of the setters 35, 36.
