In a shift lever device 10, operation of a shift lever 14 to a "P" shift position is allowed when electric power is not supplied to a solenoid while the shift lever 14 has been operated to a shift position other than the "P" shift position. Moreover, the operation of the shift lever 14 from the "P" shift position is regulated when the electric power is not supplied to a lock solenoid 82 while the shift lever 14 has been operated to the "P" shift position. Thus, even in a case where the shift position of the shift lever 14 is a position other than the "P" shift position when electric power is not supplied to the solenoid and the lock solenoid 82, the operation of the shift lever 14 from the "P" shift position can be regulated by operating the shift lever 14 to the "P" shift position, and the shift lever 14 can be disposed in the "P" shift position.
