PURPOSE: To improve operability by realizing indication of gearshift information for an upshift or a downshift and also degree of improvement of fuel consumption when a gearshift is made in conformity to said information.

CONSTITUTION: Output signals of various sensors detecting an engine operation condition are inputted to a microcomputer (unillustrated) which is forced to send out a table information which includes data a1Wa8 of eight bits indicating shift information and the degree of improvement of fuel consumption. This table information is inputted to an indication driver 16 along with the output of a throttle full close switch 13 and puts an indication device 17 in operation by means of the output of AND gates 21W26 of said driver 16, that is, a mark ZOK is lighted up for indication by lighting of a lamp L5 when any gearshift is not required, while a lamp L1 is lighted and lamps L2WL4 are also lighted in order according to the degree of improvement of fuel consumption at the time of an upshift. Further, lamps L7, L6 are lighted likewise at the time of a downshift.
