To provide a shift locking device for a vehicle, which improves a locking mechanism for a shift lever required for safety measures of an automobile.

The shift locking device is configured such that the shift lever 3 is locked at a locking position being an action position thereof and is allowed to be moved to other positions when a predetermined locking releasing operation is operated by a driver to release the locking of the shift lever 3. The shift locking device includes: an XY stopper member serving as a stopper for stopping movements, which blocks or controls both movements in X and Y directions to prevent the shift lever 3 from being moved to other positions; and a releasing mechanism coupled to the XY stopper member and retracting the XY stopper member to a retracting position from a locking action position.
