To make a lever operating direction clear and prevent an excessive burden to a link mechanism by providing a lever guide consisting of a plurality of lines of longitudinal guide parts opened in parallel with curvature, and a lateral guide part for laterally connecting the longitudinal guide parts in the neutral position thereof.
When a shift lever 1 is longitudinally operated, the locus of the shift lever 1 is drawn line-symmetrically according to the locus drawn by the rotating fulcrum of a link mechanism, or the connecting point of a second rod to lateral arm pieces herein. Thus, when a shift lever guide 4 is provided on a fender 17, for example, it is formed of two longitudinal guide boards 4a, 4b and a lateral guide part 4b for laterally connecting the both in the neutral position of this main transmission, and switching a sub-transmission device to 'high' and 'low'. According to this, the guide position of the guide 4 is easily confirmable, so that an operator unaccustomed to operation is prevented from longitudinally linearly operating the lever 1 by mistake to prevent the breakage of the device.
