Abstract:
To provide a shift range changeover device which is effective for suppressing a transition to a drive prohibition mode at which the drive of a motor is prohibited while suppressing the heat generation of the motor and a drive part.SOLUTION: In the case that a prescribed temperature suppression condition is established when a temperature estimation value MTP of a motor is not larger than an overheat determination value at which a motor reaches a drive prohibition mode, a control part for switching a shift range of a transmission by controlling the drive of the motor of an actuator changes a first mode at which drive power to the motor is not suppressed to a second mode at which the drive power is suppressed. An estimation part for calculating a temperature estimation value MTP increases the temperature estimation value MTP by increase values α1, α2 everytime changeover between a P-range and a non-P range is executed (S110 to S140), and changes the increase value α2 in the second mode to a value smaller than the increase value α1 in the first mode (S140).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
