Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably prevent any collision between an obstacle such as a ship exterior part or cargoes and freight in transportation in ship cargo handling by using a man-trolley type crane, and promote efficiency of cargo handling operation.SOLUTION: A ship cargo handling method includes the steps of: detecting a height of a horizontal plane 2 of a quay wall when freight is carried into a ship 6 or carried out therefrom by using a man-trolley type crane 10; then, moving a man-trolley 20 in a transverse direction; detecting a deck panel height from the horizontal plane 2 of the quay wall and a freight lifting height every time the man-trolley 20 passes the upper part of a deck panel 7 of the ship 6; informing an operator that the man-trolley 20 can move in the transverse direction by instruction means 46 provided in a driver's cabin 22 when a difference between the freight lifting height and the deck panel height becomes higher than the height of an obstacle 9 from the deck panel 7; and transversely moving the man-trolley 20 on a carry-in position of the freight or a carry-out position thereof while detecting a distance of transverse movement of the man-trolley 20.
