Abstract:
To provide a ship propeller capable of driving a propeller shaft by either one or both of an engine and an electric motor, while enabling coupling even in a state that there is a little rotational difference between input and output of a clutch.SOLUTION: A ship propeller includes: a forward gear 15 and a backward gear 16 engaged with a pinion gear 14 at an engine 2 side; clutches 17, 18 disposed between each of the gears 15, 16 and a propeller shaft 11; and a path for transmitting power of an electric motor 4 to the propeller shaft 11 by a path independent from both clutches 17, 18. The clutches 17, 18 retain an engagement element 40 positioned between an external portion 20 integrated with the gear 15 or 16 and an internal portion 30 integrated with the propeller shaft 11, by a retainer 50, move the engagement element 40 from a neutral position to an engagement position by relatively rotating the retainer 50 to the external portion 20 by magnetically attracting an armature 70 locked to the retainer 50 to a rotor 90 by an electromagnet 80. A neutral spring 60 and a separating spring 100 are disposed for returning of the engagement element 40 and the like.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
