Abstract:
To provide a steering gear for a ship capable of facilitating a restoration to a straight traveling state of a ship.SOLUTION: A steering gear 100 for a ship is a device to steer an outboard engine propulsion unit mounted on the outside of a hull. The steering gear for the ship comprises: a hydraulic steering mechanism 12 to steer by operating with hydraulic oil supplied according to an operation amount of a handle 4 installed on the hull; a regulation part 70 to regulate the operation of the hydraulic steering mechanism 12; a neutral switch 60 arranged on the hull; and a controller 62 to regulate the operation of the regulation part 70 based on an operation signal of the neutral switch 60. The controller 62 makes the regulation part 70 regulate the operation of the hydraulic steering mechanism 12 so that the handle is in a neutral state when the controller determines that the handle is in a neutral state based on the operation signal of the neutral switch 60.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
