To suppress pitching and rolling motion of a hull and adjust a trim angle by means of a hydrofoil, increase the strength of the region of the hull where the hydrofoil is mounted, and reduce water resistance.
In a ship so configured that the hydrofoil 6 arranged in a horizontal lateral attitude under a bottom surface 7 of the hull 1 applies upward lift F to a bow side of the hull, the hydrofoil 6 is configured to be moved back and forth and also right and left relative to the hull by an operation control mechanism 9, and the bottom surface of the hull is configured as a double bottom, where an inner bottom plate 11 is mounted with the operation control mechanism 9, an outer bottom plate 10 is provided with an opening 15 for passage of a wing strut 16 of the hydrofoil and a pair of right and left cover plates 79 for closing the opening from both right and left sides of the wing strut is slidable with right-and-left motion of the wing strut.
