Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the hull resistance to improve single efficiency of propellers and the hull efficiency by forming the hull into a buttock flow ship type, and installing rudders just behind the screw propellers and outer wheels on the wake generating parts of the stern side near the water surface. CONSTITUTION:The hull 1 is formed into a buttock floe ship type having a inclination 5 where the bottom on the stern 3 side is gradually raised toward the rear. Two screw propelles are provided below the inclination 5 nearly in parallel, rudders are installed just behind the propellers, and drivable outer wheels 8 are mounted in the neighborhood of the center line of the hull near the water surface where the water flow will not affect the hull and the wake becomes maximum. Due to the construction, the hull resistance is decreased, load per one propeller is also reduced, and single efficiency of the screw propeller is improved. Since the wake is pushed away to the rear of the hull by driving the outer wheels, the hull efficiency is improved, and the propulsive efficiency of the hull can be improved as a whole.
