This is an inspection system for inspecting whether a shipping bundle (a) of books is a correct bundle (a) in accordance with an order from a book store in packaging and shipping the bundle (a) as book shipping operation. A shipping slip (b) is made indicating a book store name, the title of a book ordered from the book store, the number of the copies, the weight shown in number of the shipping bundle (a) and a bar code coding the weight. This system is provided at a packaging part with a bar code reader 7 for reading bar code contents listed on the shippng slip (b), a weigher 5 for weighing the shipping bundle (a), a comparator 8 for comparing an electric signal based on the weight read by the bar code reader and the electric signal based on the weight weighed by the weigher 5, and indicating equipment 9 for indicating when the electric signal based on the weight from the weigher 5 equals or is within tolerable range of the electric signal based on the weight from the bar code reader.
