Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a water feed force for a ship's propulsion by exciting an exciting coil on a ship's hull and supplying an alternate electric current of the same phase angle as generated magnetic flux to electric poles arranged at the open ends of the exciting coil. CONSTITUTION:The outer surface of a cylinder 1 with both ends open and having electric insulation quality is opposedly fitted with the magnetic pole 4 of an exciting core 3 wound with an exciting coil 2. Therefore, magnetic flux 5 from the exciting core 3 is generated via sea water within the open cylinder 1. On the other hand, there is a pair of electrodes 6 provided inside the open end 1, intersecting the magnetic flux 5 orthogonally in respect of section for causing electric currents toward sea water. Therefore, when said pair of electrodes 6 are applied with voltage, electric currents 7 flow through sea water,thereby generating a water feed force due to a magnetic flux power in the axial direction of the open cylinder 1.
