Title:
SHOCK ABSORBER OF SIDE BRAKE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3416683
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent housing damage by mitigating shocker that is caused by large torque by means of a shock absorbing mechanism through a support member supporting a brake member, when large torque accompanied by shock is generated following the sudden operation of a side brake.
CONSTITUTION: When an operator operates a side brake in emergency at the time of the operation of an automobile, the operation force of the operator is transmitted to a brake shoe 2 via a cable and an operation lever 5, and the brake shoe 2 is brought into close contact with a brake drum 1, and the brake of an axle 7 is realized. Large torque accompanied by shock that is to be generated at this time is transmitted to a support member 16 to which the brake shoe 2 is fitted, and this becomes circumferential tangent force and is transmitted to springs 11 through the regulation screws 14 and spring boxes 12 of a shock absorbing mechanism, and in addition retainers 13 and a stopper 16 are butted, and as the springs 11 are bent, shock is absorbed and mitigated.
