To provide a shock absorber with a vehicle height control function for accurately keeping a predetermined vehicle height.

The shock absorber with the vehicle height control function comprises: a shock absorber body D having a cylinder 2 and a piston 3 for partitioning the cylinder 2 into a compression side chamber R1 and an elongation side chamber R2; a pump chamber P to be expanded/contracted with the expansion/contraction of the shock absorber body D; a jack chamber J opposed to a suspension spring support 4 movably mounted on the outer periphery of the cylinder 2; a suction passage 5 for communicating the pump chamber P with the elongation side chamber R2 to allow a flow only from the elongation side chamber R2 to the pump chamber P; a supply passage 6 for communicating the pump chamber P with the jack chamber J; and a vehicle height control port 7 for communicating the midway of the supply passage 6 with the compression side chamber R1. On the midway of the supply passage 6 on the side of the jack chamber J beyond the vehicle height control port 7, a throttle 8 and a check valve 9 which allows a flow only from the pump chamber P to the jack chamber J are provided in parallel to each other.
