An inside working fluid flows between upper/lower working fluid chambers through a piston according to relative motion of a cylinder and a piston rod, and also flows between the lower working fluid chamber and a reservoir through a base valve. When disposing of such a shock absorber by removing the shock absorber from a car body, the inside sealed working fluid is recovered by boring a waste oil hole in an outer wall of an outer shell 3, but in this case, a label 23 for displaying a boring position 22 for regulating a boring position capable of thoroughly taking out the working fluid at extracting time of the inside sealed working fluid, is stuck to the outer wall surface of the outer shell 3. Thus, anybody can easily and accurately bore the waste oil hole.
